NOVELS

Such A Small World, Deep Desires Press (2024)

A speculative queer love story wrapped in memories that won’t stay buried.

Mackenzie's last boyfriend cheated on him. And for reasons unknown, Mackenzie didn’t see it coming, even with his ability to see the relationship timeline with every new person he meets — friends, acquaintances, and lovers included.

Usually, these clips of the future, nicknamed Brain Cinema, play out like a movie in his head, only lasting a few seconds most of the time. But that's not the case when he meets flight attendant Jasper on a plane to Central Australia from the East Coast.

After seeing his relationship timeline with Jasper, Mackenzie realizes he’s received much more than anticipated on this holiday so far. In the vision, he sees them falling in love and living happy years together, but also Jasper dying in his arms around ten years later. This dredges up Mackenzie's past, and he feels as if history is repeating itself. So he avoids Jasper at all costs in an attempt to save him.

How much can Mackenzie really control his love and life, though, and at what point must he surrender to what’s meant for him, all the while knowing that his time with Jasper is limited?

When Things Happen Together, Deep Desires Press (2022)

Two travelers on the ultimate Australian road trip. Two numbers that will change their lives forever.

Thomas is in need of a change. Being an aspiring artist from London, he hopes a working holiday in sunny Australia will be the muse he’s been waiting for. But it isn’t Australia’s vast landscapes that are his source of inspiration… After a string of unromantic dates, Thomas meets Bruce, a handsome Irish traveler with alluring almond eyes.

The more time the pair spend together, however, the more they start seeing the numbers 1122 everywhere.

Are the numbers just a coincidence, or is something greater at play? Is Bruce really who he says he is, or is there more to him than he’s letting on?

A story about seizing the moment, finding a sense of home, and embracing love when it comes knocking.

SHORT STORIES

The Way We Are (2023)

A nature-inspired short story with a twist, featuring the main characters from When Things Happen Together.

Since living in London together, Bruce and Thomas don’t see past the city skyline as much as they would endeavour. They told each other they would travel more often. Though, with the cost of living and Bruce's demanding writing job, those pacts get pushed back as frequently as a trip to the dentist does. But it's their one-year anniversary, so they've promised each other they would leave the hustle behind for a few days, to celebrate, to relish in the same vein of excitement from when they first met.

Upon reaching their remote cabin in the forest, they're met with a far-flung calmness in the form of no phone service. However, as they settle into their escape, with nothing but each other, the birds, and the crackle of a fire, Bruce discovers something in the trees that reminds him of painful past memories, something that quickly takes hold of him. Is it just his wild imagination playing tricks on him, or has the unthinkable become reality? It's time for Bruce to tell his story.
